Monthly Celebrations – October

Hello everyone! Today I don’t really have any writing tips or tricks but instead am just lamenting about my current writing status, despairs, and achievements! This month has been nothing but chaotic for me, which is good, but I often feel like I’m not getting everything I want to achieve done.

Time to Prep For Nano (A Couple Helpful Tips!)

We’re less than a month away from the beginning of NANOWRIMO! What does that stand for? National Novel Writing Month.

November is the month for writers! It is when we crawl out of our writing caves, put our butt in chairs, stuff our faces with caffeine and TYPE!

If you don’t know, Nanowrimo stands for National Writing Month where writers around the world try to write a novel (or 50K words) within a month. This is the time to finally get out that novel idea you’ve been thinking about for months. New writers tackle their first attempt at noveling (that is a word now!) while experienced veterans look upon the blank page with grim determination.

Even though we’re still in October, it isn’t too late to start preparing for 30 days of constant writing, plotting, and racking up the word count.

Mid Year Check In

I realized while looking back at my past posts that I started this blog near the beginning of the year. While I remember some of my New Year Writer Resolution’s I never wrote them down.

Being in the military means I have learned to be VERY goal oriented. Writing things down and checking them off helps inspire me and reminds me I’m working towards something. So below are my writing goals for the year and how I’m progressing so far!

Stay Motivated and On Track: Start A Writing Calendar

This year my resolution is to think of my writing as a career, which is hard when you’re already juggling a career and are still in the Revising stages of your novel. Two months into the new year and I am sure I’m not the only one who has to constantly remind myself of my goals and to write every day, still staying motivated is hard.

Which is why I’ve come to adopt a new process this year which has helped me stay on track and remember my goals. Ladies and Gentlemen… The Writing Calendar.
